Canada Specific Models
Looking for a specific model of car? See below.
If you find that the Canadian car research tools listed on this page are not adequate for your needs you can use the tools on the American page (simply click on the "See this page for: the US" link in the lower left hand corner of the page). Keep in mind that there are some subtle differences between cars for sale in Canada and in the US.
The major differences between US and Canadian regulations mean that cars for sale in Canada must have bilingual labels, kilometers instead of miles, child seat anchors, daytime running lights and more stringent bumpers. Obviously prices shown on US sites are in US dollars and you should keep that in mind when looking at any pricing data.
The MSN Autos site is probably the best place to start when you know exactly what car you want. Simply choose your car using the 'Find a Car' using the drop down lists in the top left hand corner of the site. Then sit back and review almost all the information you could want presented elegantly and in one place.
You are shown the quick facts on the car, pricing, trim choices, safety information, specs and a picture gallery. You can compare it to other cars and look at other vehicles of the same type or in the specific model line. There is also now a proprietary 360 degree viewing system available on some cars although the quality is not great and you can't zoom in for a closer look.
Depending on the car you've selected there may be one or two reviews available also. What's missing - ownership expense data and resale costs. Although it is not perfect it is a very good resource in a limited Canadian line up of sites.
auto123.com - automotive information and tools
From the main page click on the New Vehicles link in the left hand column. To see technical specs on new cars select the make from the drop down list under the Specifications heading. Choose your model on the next page.
You are shown a mundane list of specs with no links to reviews, consumer ratings, safety information or 360 degree views. You're better off at a manufacturer's site than using this tool.
