CARkeys - UK Motoring News, Auto Features, Road tests and Launches
http://www.carkeys.co.uk/
A good site with a searchable collection of road tests (reviews), both a new and used car buying guide, glossary, information on financing and much more. There are also entertaining features and columns, contests and much more.
Pros:
There are at least 200 very thorough road tests available on both this year's models and previous year's cars. The buying guides are good, the glossary is helpful and the guides to financing and insurance are well done. The site has an overall search feature which now seems to be Boolean (a search for Toyota Prius brought up only 12 entries containing both search terms) and there is now an image search in the gallery as well.
Cons:
Very little negative about this site - early deficiencies have been addressed (i.e. the 'Booleanization' of the search feature).
How to:
- Find a review on a specific model
Select your make from the drop down list and then select the model on the next page. Models that have been superseded by newer vehicles are marked with an asterisk.
- Access buyer's guide
From the main page select either the new car buying guide or used car buying guide from the links underneath the BUYING GUIDES heading (in the row of headings across the top of the page).
- Access glossary
It's not an extensive glossary but it does cover the basics.
- Search the site
Put your search terms in to the search box in the upper right hand area of the page and click on GO.

Welcome to World Off Road
http://www.worldoffroad.com/
Sadly I've had to downgrade this site since although it has some great features it appears as if it is not really a site where people participate actively so the value of its forums is questionable. Still it does have one very useful feature in the Offroad Datafile (described below) and you can use the Search feature to look for specific information on the site.
Pros:
The place to start if you are trying to decide if a 4x4 is the right vehicle for you is the Offroad Datafile link (left hand column). On this page you'll be able to specify a number of characteristics you are looking for in a 4x4 and have returned to you a list of manufacturer/model combinations that fit your criteria. Cool!
If you are looking for information on a specific brand or model try typing your information in the Search box in the lower left hand corner of the page.
Cons:
Much of this site appears moribund. The latest posting in the forums is 2 years old and the copyright date is 5 years old. Despite this you may still find something useful here.
How to:
- Find a review on a specific model
Your only hope here is to put a make and model (or maybe just model name since it is probably unique to that make) in the Search box in the lower left hand corner of the main page and hope for the best.
- Access buyer's guide
There is no buyer's guide on this site.
- Access glossary
There is no glossary on this site.
- Search the site
Put your search term in the box in the bottom left hand corner of the page and hope for the best (not sure if this is a Boolean search or if quotes or wildcards will work etc - no information is given on the site).

The Car Enthusiast
http://www.carenthusiast.com/
This site is mostly targeted at the car enthusiast rather than the practical car shopper but you may find something of interest here in the reviews section.
Pros:
The reviews section has quite a number of reviews on both this year's and earlier models. There is also a news section, archives and a gallery.
Cons:
There are none of the tools that are useful to new car shoppers - glossary, buyer's guide or search function.
How to:
- Find a review on a specific model
Choose your manufacturer from the list in the right hand column (peachy coloured background). Reviews for this brand will show up in the left hand column underneath the main graphic.
- Access buyer's guide
There is no buyer's guide on this site.
- Access glossary
There is no glossary on this site.
- Search the site
There is no search function on this site.
