So, how much is that car really worth? Find out here....

TMV new car prices, used car values at Edmunds
http://www.edmunds.com/tmv/used/index.html
Edmunds True Market Value used car appraisal tool is top of the line and allows you to obtain values on used cars from 2005 back to 1989.
Pros:
You get to indicate a load of characteristics make, model, style, miles, your zip code, colour, optional equipment on the vehicle and vehicle condition. You can create a window sticker and there is no limit on how many vehicles you can obtain values upon.
ability to indicate lots of characteristics of car (condition, age, colour, feature), easy to use, no limit on number of vehicles you can ask for pricing on
Cons:
There are no downsides to this site.
How to:

Kelley Blue Book - Enter your ZIP Code
http://www.kbb.com/
Another good site that allows you to get a value on used vehicles from 2005 back to 1986.
Pros:
You get to indicate the year, condition, your zip code, make, model and optional equipment on a used vehicle. Kelley Blue Book offers the assessment in Spanish as well as English.
Cons:
You don't get to indicate colour on the KBB site nor can you use the site to print a window sticker as on Edmund's site.
How to:
- Get a value on your vehicle
Enter your zip code in the first screen and on the next page select the year, make and model of your vehicle. Then continue on with entering your vehicle's information.

NADA Guides - New Car Prices, Used Car Values
http://www.nadaguides.com/
This is a more basic used vehicle valuation tool with a bit of a quirky procedure. Still - as all the price guides are free why not try them all with the same vehicle to see how they agree.
Pros:
The process is quick and easy but doesn't offer any advantages over Edmunds and Kelley Blue Book.
Cons:
The process of selecting the vehicle is a bit awkward in that instead of specifying your make and model in the first step you have to choose what type of vehicle you are getting a price on (i.e. 4-door sedan, wagon). You don't get to indicate colour or condition of the vehicle, you only get two prices (retail and trade in) while the other sites offer three and you don't get a window sticker for printing.
How to:
- Get a value on your vehicle
Click on the Used Car Values link and enter your zip code. On the next page select a body style, then make, year, model & trim and mileage and options. Finally click on the Get Used Value button.

VMR Used Car Prices
http://www.vmrintl.com/makes.htm
A very basic valuation tool that only applies to vehicles back to 1994.
Pros:
The process is very quick and simple and easy to understand.
Cons:
You don't get to indicate your location (which I understand affects the value of the vehicle), the colour of the vehicle or its condition. You don't get anything you can print and only 2 prices are listed.
How to:
- Get a value on your vehicle
Select your manufacturer, then your year, your model and on the final page specify any added or deducted equipment and the mileage. You may also specify a different version on the last page of the report (within a model line). Retail and wholesale prices are shown at the top of the page.
