I need a car but I have no idea past that - I don't know how much I should spend, whether I should buy new or used or anything - help!

If all you know is that you need a car then we suggest you start with the category we call Buying Guides. These guides will help you decide how much you can afford to spend, whether you should look at a new or used car, whether you should lease or buy and a myriad of other factors.

We also suggest that you create your own word processing document on this whole process and copy pieces of the guide that you find particularly relevant and note down your decisions as you make them. This way when you are done reviewing the buying guides you'll have a record of what your choices were and why you made them.
